My headache was too bad to listen to music, so I rolled my windows down and listened to the sounds of birds chirping in the background. It was a peaceful break from reality.
I was engrossed in my own thoughts and I didn’t realize how close I had gotten to the side of the road. Before I knew what was happening, my car clipped the side of the road and I ended up veering to the right.
My foot mashed on the brakes, but not before I ran down poor Ms. Davenport’s birdhouse mailbox. Ugh, hopefully she wouldn’t be upset. The gray-haired old lady opened her front door and the screen slammed behind her.
“Oh, dear, are you all right?”
“Yeah, Ms. Davenport, I’m just a little shaken up right now. I’m so sorry about this; I’ll purchase you a new one right away.”
“Oh pish-posh, dear, I know you’ll take care of it. I’m more worried about you. What on earth happened? You should be lucky it was just a mailbox and not a tree. We wouldn’t be having this conversation then.”
“Well, I was too close to the curb, clipped it and lost control of the car. Thank heavens I was only driving about thirty miles per hour.” “Be careful driving home, dear. I’ll talk to you soon.”
Ms. Davenport gave me her friendliest smile and then headed back inside her house. At least I got lucky enough to hit her mailbox and not Mr. Jenkins next door. He would have my ass in a sling before I could apologize. The old man was a retired drill sergeant.

Shay West does a fantastic job with character development, and Twisted Reflections is a testament to that. A lot of new elements are introduced into her life, and the lapse between time traveling gives the reader a perfect chance to experience how Alex handles her extraordinary life.

  The ending was very fitting, and I cannot wait to continue this amazing series. Shay West has outdone herself with Twisted Reflections, and I cannot wait to watch her grow even more as a writer.

  Wow, wow, WOW! This was the first book of Ruth Silver's that I've had the privilege of reading, and wow! I was blown away. The setting of Dead Girl Walking was so descriptive that I instantly felt enveloped by the world of Princess Ophelia Dacre.

  The attention to detail didn't end with the setting. Each of the characters in Dead Girl Walking seemed so unique that I truly felt like I had met a new group of people. As the princess left behind her identity of Ophelia and submerses herself into a new life of Leila, the Grim Reaper, I felt like I was right there with her. The struggle with her new life and new responsibilities was showcased in a searingly honest way that allowed me to experience her resistance, too. For those of you who enjoy romance, there's definitely a budding connection in this book. But it isn't the focus of this story. I was so appreciative of that. It was enough romance to satiate my HEA-loving heart, but the focus of the book was on Leila and her journey.

  I can promise you that this will not be my last read of Ruth Silver's works. Her talent is captivating, and I cannot wait for the next book in the Royal Reaper series to continue following Leila's adventures as a novice Grim Reaper. It can't come soon enough!

  There was a slight whirl, accompanied by an odd wobbling sound. He stepped toward the sound and reached out his hand, feeling heat radiate off a strange, crystal clear shimmer.   We all know I struggle with New Adult. I was skeptical about Priya in Heels. As soon as I saw that Tyler was a musician, I prepared myself for disappoint. But Ayesha Patel surprised me entirely and delivered a clever book that I adored!

Not only did the author deliver on witty characters who stood out on their own and a slow-building romance that I supported so easily, she gave me a glimpse into the culture of India. I devoured the details of Priya's heritage right along with the budding romance. Ayesha Patel was able to weave a book as rich in detail and beautiful as the culture she focused on.

  The characters in Priya in Heels were so enjoyable and diverse. Priya's friends often had me laughing at their antics. As for Priya and Tyler, I was sold and swooning from the very start. The romance wasn't heavy handed or dark like I've sadly come to expect with New Adult. It was light and charming in the best of ways.

  If you're a fan of Big Bang Theory or Penny Reid, then you'll find a new favorite with Priya in Heels. It's a smart romance filled to the brim with enjoyable characters and endearing love.
