Jennifer Nolan has been unlucky when it comes to love; even more unfortunate when it comes to sex. In fact, the twenty year-old college junior is about to enter her senior year still carrying her v-card. All she wants is to be with that special someone without it resulting in a trip to the emergency room, runaway office supplies, or being scarred for life by someone’s weird fetishes. With several botched attempts under her belt, she begins to fear she’ll end up a lonely spinster or a crazy cat lady.
With only 60 days until her 21st birthday, Jennifer is determined to lose her virginity once and for all. Little does she know that her mission will lead her down a path toward love. She never expects that her mission will lead her to a discovery of what true womanhood is, and where true and lasting love begins.

Alicia Michaels is one of my favorite small press/Indie authors, so as soon as I heard she had written a New Adult book I had to read it. I've struggled with New Adult books in the past, but I'm learning that the author really does set the tone for these books. Alicia Michaels did just that with V-Card. It's a very quick read, and I read it in one sitting without even realizing that's what I was doing. It was so easy to get engrossed in this book!
The dynamic of the characters works so well, and I really loved getting to know all of them. Immediately, I pictured Jenn as Jennifer Lawrence. I was so excited whenever I saw that Alicia picked JLaw as Jenn with the dream cast! All of the roommates were so well thought out. They each stand out as their own unique person. It was interesting to compare Dain and Luke. I won't say any more as to spare you from spoilers.
V-Card is the perfect summer read. It's a light and fun book that you can read in one evening. I did feel sad to leave the characters at the end, though. There was a definite lack of drama and immaturity, and I was so happy for it. If you're looking for a quick and fun New Adult read, you have to pick up V-Card!

The mother of three and wife to an Army sergeant, she loves chocolate, coffee, and of course good books. When not writing, you can usually find her with her nose in a book, shopping for shoes and fabulous jewelry, or spending time with her loving family.
